Blast Furnace Taphole Clay

KleenKast™ Taphole Technology
A resin-bonded, taphole closure material designed for multi or single taphole blast furnaces. This product has a high carbon content allowing for longer taphole lengths coupled with a reinforced bond system with additives to achieve extended cast times. Designed to combat environmental concerns, this product’s emissions will be much cleaner and less than what is seen from conventional coal tar and petroleum bonded systems.

Reno Jet Cast NC SiC
High alumina, silicon carbide no cement material designed to be installed by pumping or shotcreting. Jet Cast NC SiC has high density, low porosity, high hot strength, and rapid dry out characteristics. These features make this product an excellent candidate for Blast Furnace Trough Applications. Jet Cast NC SiC rated extremely high in testing by major US Steel companies.  

Reno ElectroPump™ 1116 SiC
A high alumina silicon-carbide, no-cement castable to be installed by casting behind forms. Based on RENO’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond, a nano-fluid electrolyte for maximum performance. The properties of high hot strength, abrasion resistance, low porosity, and low permeability make this product an ideal choice in applications where extreme resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation are required. Recommended for the main trough on cold installations.

Reno ElectroShot™ 1116 SiC
A high alumina silicon-carbide, no-cement castable to be installed by the shotcrete process. Based on RENO’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond, a nano-fluid electrolyte for maximum performance. The properties of high hot strength, abrasion resistance, low porosity, and low permeability make this product an ideal choice in applications where extreme resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation are required. Recommended for installation for the main trough on hot installations as well as iron and slag runner applications.

Reno Jet Cast NC 6044
High Alumina, Silicon-Carbide, no-cement material designed to be installed by shotcreting or pumping into a blast furnace trough and slag/iron runner. Characteristics are high density, low porosity, and rapid dry-out with excellent resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation. 

Reno ElectroPump™ 310 SiC
A fused alumina castable with silicon carbide additions designed to be installed by the vibration casting. Based on RENO’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond, a nano-fluid electrolyte for maximum performance. The properties of high hot strength, abrasion resistance, low porosity, and low permeability make this product an ideal choice in applications where extreme resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation are required. An ideal choice for installing in a blast furnace iron runner.

Reno ElectroShot™ 1122 SiC
High Alumina, silicon-carbide, no-cement castable with high density, low porosity, high hot strength, and rapid dry out characteristics. Designed for Blast Furnace Trough Applications i.e. Main Troughs and Slag and Iron Runners. This product based on its excellent features has great resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation. This product tested very well by US Steel companies for Blast Furnace Applications.

Reno Blak Gate Sand
A graphitic sand designed for use in Blast Furnace Troughs. The material is designed for rapid dry-outs and installation by shovel tamping.

Blast Furnace Trough Maintenance

Reno NC Hot Gun 6044
High Alumina, Silicon-Carbide, no-cement material designed to be installed by gunning onto a hot blast furnace trough, slag runner or taphole face. Characteristics are high density, low porosity, and rapid dry-out with excellent resistance to iron, slag, thermal shock and oxidation. The material is shipped dry with the accelerator included within the dry material. Colloidal binder is added at the nozzle and the end result is excellent adherence to spent and hot refractory surfaces. 

Reno ElectroShot™ 1116 SiC
A high alumina silicon-carbide, no-cement castable to be installed by the shotcrete process. Based on RENO’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond, a nano-fluid electrolyte for maximum performance. Based on RENO’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond, a nano-fluid electrolyte for maximum performance, this mullite-based, no cement castable is designed to be installed by the shotcrete process. The properties of high hot strength, abrasion resistance, low porosity, and low permeability make this product an upgraded choice for Torpedo Ladle Hot Faces.

Reno Jet Cast 66
High Alumina, low porosity, low cement castable developed for shotcreting torpedo lades. This product has high hot strength and positive expansion at elevated temperatures making it an ideal choice against slag and metal attack. 

Reno Jet Cast NC 67
High Alumina no cement refractory monolith designed to be installed by pumping or shotcreting. Features include quick installation and dry-out, high hot strength, excellent thermal shock resistance and better heat storage than comparable low cement water based monoliths.

High Alumina, low porosity, low cement castable with high hot strength and positive expansion at elevated temperatures making it an ideal choice against slag and metal attack.

Reheat Furnace Extractors

Reno ElectroCast™ 386
High Alumina, bauxite based monolithic designed to be installed by vibration casting behind forms. This product is based on Reno’s proprietary Electro Chemical bond system. Micro porosity of the bond phase results in the reduction of reactivity of corrosive vapors. Features include high hot strength, abrasion resistance, and low porosity making it an excellent upgrade to combat penetration and reaction with molten metals, slags and vapors.

Reno NC 90 AR
High Alumina no cement castable featuring high hot strength, low porosity, and high density. Benefits include ease of installation, rapid dry-out, and excellent thermal shock resistance.

 

Reheat Furnace Hearth Hot Face

Reno Cast SP 92
Volume stable, low cement castable containing high-alumina magnesia spinel mineralogy. Designed to be installed by vibra casting or pumping. High refractoriness, excellent hot strength and resistance to molten steel, iron oxide scale and iron are a few of its unique characteristics. This product has achieved record hearth tonnages in hot strip applications throughout the world.

Reno Pump 50 LC
A 50% alumina, low cement castable designed to be cast, pumped or shotcreted into place. This product features low iron content, volume stability, and excellent strength and abrasion resistance.

Reno Jet Cast NC 50
High Alumina, no cement material with excellent resistance to thermal shock and abrasion. It is designed to be easily installed by pumping, casting, and shotcreting. High density, low porosity, high hot strength and quick dry-out are key characteristics.

High Alumina, low porosity, low cement castable developed for shotcreting. This product has high hot strength and positive expansion at elevated temperatures.

Reheat Furnace Roof Hot Face/Insulation/Bull Nose

ASAP Cast 70 LC
High Alumina, mullite based, ultra low cement castable that can be rapidly dried out. It demonstrates high hot strengths and density to resist abrasion, chemical attack and erosion at elevated temperatures. It’s low porosity reduces penetration and reaction by chemical attack. An ideal choice for the hot face roof of reheat furnaces. ASAP Cast 70 LC can be installed by pumping, shotcreting or casting.

Reno Plastic 70 AS
Air setting, high alumina plastic with excellent resistance to thermal and mechanical shock. An alternative for use where conditions are too severe for super duty plastics. Excellent selection for reheat furnace bull noses.

Reno Lite Gun 40
A strong, lightweight insulating gun mix demonstrating low thermal conductivity, excellent heat storage and minimal rebounds.

Reno NC 70
High Alumina, no cement material with high hot strength and excellent resistance to chemical attack and thermal shock. It is designed to be easily installed by vibra casting and can be dried out quicker than cement based monoliths.

Reno Blak Ice No. 2
A high carbon wash material in a wet, ready to spray form. The grain sizing and graphite content gives this material the ability to resist iron and slag penetration. Primary purpose is for coating large slag pots where iron and slag tend to build up. This product allows easy removal of the slag from the slag pots or existing refractory surfaces. Shipped in bulk via tanker trucks whereby it is off loaded at major steel producers where it is then applied through a spray station on large slag pots.
